St. Charles Fine Art Show Celebrated Its 12th Year in 2010!

In 2010, the St. Charles Fine Art Show achieved another success in its twelfth consecutive year of bringing quality artwork to the Fox Valley. From the time of its inception in 1999, the annual 2-day art show has grown in quantity and quality, attracting art lovers keen to view and, hopefully, purchase uncommon works of art in a unique atmosphere.

Gathering talented artists from around the country as well as regional and local artists, the 2010 show was one of the best yet, according to event organizers. Dedicated fine art buyers perused paintings, jewelry, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and glass.

Located on the beautiful banks of the Fox River, attendees strolled the grounds to tunes provided by renowned jazz and blues club, Chord on Blues. Attendees had a variety of local restaurants within a short walking distance of the show that appealed to a wide variety of tastes and prices.

MOSAIC PROJECTS 2010

The MOSAIC PROJECT debuted in 2009 at the St. Charles Fine Art Show with Norton Creek Elementary and Haines Junior High creating beautiful works of art for their schools. The St. Charles Fine Art Show Committee and the Downtown St. Charles Partnership welcome three St. Charles Area schools to the second MOSAIC PROJECT: Fox Ridge Elementary, Wasco Elementary and St. Charles East High School. Their students and faculty created beautiful mosaic designs which will be displayed in their schools for everyone to appreciate for many years to come. “We want students to love art and make it a part of their life” said Elizabeth Bellaver, co-chair of the mosaic initiative.  She enthusiastically encouraged students to become “art advocates” by using their talents and attending community events such as the St. Charles Fine Art Show.

All were invited to come and watch this “hands-on” project as the students adhered tiles and ceramic pieces to their original mosaic designs all day Saturday and Sunday.

Congratulations to our 2010 St. Charles Fine Art Show Winners!
