Marketing & Promotions Committee

Promotion sells a positive image of the commercial district and encourages consumers and investors to live, work, shop, play and invest in the Main Street district. By marketing a district's unique characteristics to residents, investors, business owners, and visitors, an effective promotional strategy forges a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events, and marketing campaigns carried out by local volunteers. These activities improve consumer and investor confidence in the district and encourage commercial activity and investment in the area.

This committee focuses on providing a unified, vibrant and quality image of historic downtown St. Charles- and its identified shopping/ dining quadrants- to both residents and visitors. This is accomplished through the general image advertising campaign, marketing collateral, media and public relations efforts, and the management of numerous special events and activities, such as Sisters Weekend, St. Charles Fine Art Show, Concerts in the Park, Theatre in the Park, and Pepsi's Miracle on 64th Street Holiday Homecoming and Electric Christmas Parade. Additionally, support is provided to other entities' events, such as St. Patrick's Day Parade, RiverFest, and Scarecrow Festival.

If you have an affinity for marketing, or just want to serve on a committee with really fun people, join the Marketing & Promotions Committee. Meetings are held the 4th Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at Arcedium Coffeehouse, 60 Indiana Street. For more information, call Ashley Dorsch at the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office: 630-513-5386 ext. 3.
